rip a DVD to movie files

This entry is of a trivial nature: I want to rip a whole DVD. The DVD contains 25 titles, and I don’t want to manually rip 25 little movie files. This is how I did it in the end:

  • install handbrake-cli
  • scan the DVD to find out how many titles there are
  • create the 25 numbers like so:
perl -e 'foreach $i (1..25) { print "$i "; }'
  • execute the following zsh script

echo $f
HandBrakeCLI -t $f -i /dev/dvd -o ceroc_$f.mp4
end
